What is a "gold filled" chain?
"Gold filled" jewelry is jewelry composed of a solid layer of gold (18k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass used in this chain. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th of the weight of the total item. Unlike gold plated, it is very hard-wearing and under normal wear and the gold will not peel or flake.
Care:
Gold filled jewelry can last a very long time, but it is heavily dependent on several lifestyle and environmental factors. It is recommended to avoid extended exposure to chlorinated water, hair products, lotions, sweat, etc., as it may lessen the longevity of the product. To keep your piece in the best condition, simply wipe piece down with a soft cloth after each use. A polishing cloth is included with your purchase to help with the care and cleaning your new chain.
